Have you felt unheard or unseen by your doctor? Perhaps you are worried about an upcoming surgery or are dealing with trauma after an operation. Maybe you are also dealing with the stress of having a physical disability and are trying to lie in a world that requires you to adapt. In all of what you are feeling right now, maybe you are dealing with major life transitions, the loss of your identity, or self-esteem issues. You want to live a life just like everyone else, but you deal with anxiety and wish you can control your negative thoughts. You want to accept who you are, and live your life to the fullest with no regrets.
My primary focus is working with older teens, young adults, adults, the elderly population as well as people with disabilities. I also work with clients who have issues related to life transitions, codependency issues, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, chronic pain/illness, social skills development, and obsessive-compulsive issues.
I specialize in clients both with and without disabilities with self-esteem issues, trauma (which includes medical trauma), co-dependency, and life transitions. In sessions, I also incorporate the use of the creative arts to facilitate freedom of expression to learn how to live life to the fullest.
As someone with a physical disability (I have a form of dwarfism), it is easy for me to empathize with my clients. My background is in disability advocacy as well, and I am one to always advocate and fight for my clients. One of my favorite quotes is, “Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain” by Viviane Greene. This quote reminds me of how one can move through adversity in life. I help my clients on their journey toward working through adversity in their lives.
